Keep your blue bin for the new service
Use your old blue bin for your new pay-as-you-throw rubbish bin service rolls out for west Auckland in October 2017 and in March 2018 for the North Shore.
The new service is easy – put your old blue bin back into action as your rubbish bin and simply attach a new pre-paid tag each time you want your bin collected. By re-using your old blue bin you’re helping to reduce the waste we send to landfill – every bin saved helps to achieve our zero waste goal for Auckland.
All you need to do is purchase a pre-paid tag for the bin each time you want it collected, attach it to your bin handle and put it out on your usual collection day. Tags cost $3.80 per bin tag and are on sale at supermarket check outs across west Auckland.
Don’t have a bin? How to request a bin:
You can request a new bin if:
• You’ve already returned your old blue bin
• Your old blue bin is broken or damaged
• Live in a property that is a new build and does not have a bin.
Please click here to request a new bin, or to request your blue one be collected.
