Make the most of waste by the Auckland Council

Aotea Community Recycling Centre

The Aotea Community Recycling Centre is where you can drop off unwanted items and materials for reuse and recycling. The aim is to reduce waste to landfill by reusing, re-purposing and recycling as much as possible. The centre has a shop on site, which sells usable household and building materials. On Aotea, the CRC is responsible for all the recycling on the island. Envirokiwi Community Enterprise, contracted to operate the CRC, transports recyclables off-island for further processing and is also working to explore on-island uses for materials.

The CRC is located at 66B Gray Road.  The opening hours are:

  • Low Season (early February to late December):
    • 9am to 4pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and
    • 10am to 3pm on Saturdays
  • Peak Season (21 December to 6 February):
    • 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and
    • 10am to 3pm on Saturdays
