Zero waste events
Many Auckland Council-run events are now zero waste, including Ambury Farm Day, the Parnell Festival of Roses, and the Music and Movies in Parks series.
A zero waste event is one where careful consideration is given to the products used on site and where these end up post-event. Planning in this manner may result in items being recycled, composted or avoided altogether.
It also means that when you go to a zero waste event, you’re asked to think about the items you are bringing in and what waste they might generate.
